Noreen - I'm SO glad you're enjoying the Benson Garden! Thanks for spreading the word about the cookbook, too! Much appreciated :)

The new Benson Community Garden will be great !! I probably won't need a garden bed since I'm going to have my garden landscaped. But I will donate and volunteer my services. Last Saturday we put a ranch style fence around the garden (wow! the guys work fast !!)  and Mayor Suttle will cut the ribbon for it's ground breaking ceremony at it starts at 10:AM  this Sat.  I have volunteered to have a yoga garden class, and I want to do a medicinal herbal and a spice making class using some from your "Outside of the Box" recipes. And, I will take orders from anyone that one that wants to buy the book or CD. Glad that you personally told me about the garden weeks ago.

Hi Christy : )
My adrenal exhaustion has kept me from running around as much as I would like to. I have been spending more time indoors and venturing out later in the afternoons and evenings. I haven't even been working in the garden much. My last real outdoor activity was the City Sprouts garage sale. I have been working more on developing my Yoga practice along with aerobics and body scultpting. I may even volunteer doing yoga at the ashram. These are at least activities I can do inside and stay hydrated and cool. Has it been decided just where the next pot luck will be held? Either location is fine with me. I have been job hunting w/o much luck; but I'm not really trying so hard either : ) I'd like to help out more with your organization though I'm financially strapped right now. If you have other things for me to do, let me know. Very early hours in the A.M work fine for me. Then from mid-morning thru mid-afternoon, I'm back to the refuge of my air conditioner: ) Thanks, Noreen

Welcome to the Benson Group, Noreen. We missed you at the other potluck, but glad you got to spend some time with family. We hope to see you on July 1 for our next potluck - this one will be held in the Benson area....either at my house or the Benson library's conference room!

Dear Associates,
....or to those who know me, I'm sorry that I've been out of touch with everyone lately. I met for the first time my wonderful bother-in-law who flew in from Berlin to spend 1 1/2 days with us. For those who fly often, don't be fooled by those frequent flier miles. My brother-in-law could not get an extension on his flight back for at least three weeks. Way too long a extension for a professional person who had to get back over seas.

I'm also sorry that I had missed the past pot luck out west. My brother-in-laws depature for 8:AM was cancelled for 12:30 because of the rain storm on that day. I'm looking to getting back involved with my new on line friends and blogging. Christy is definitely doing great things with this new site and I hope to continue to support her cause as best as I can. I'd be happy to join this new community and encourage others to eat healthier. Count me in as a newest member to the group. Let's have some fun doing it ! Noreen W.

-Chocolate Pudding (dairy-free; made from avocado).

What a cruel thing to do to a perfectly good avocado! <8-P

Next one is July 11, but it's not in Benson: A few of us from Benson are attending, though...

Menu, so far includes:

-Indian entree w/ rice

-Za'Atar Pizza. The crust is a purchased gluten free, dairy free etc product and the topping is Za'Atar (a middle eastern specialty of dried thyme blended with sesame seeds), olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, sea salt and cracked pepper.

-Fresh veggie salad

-Chocolate Pudding (dairy-free; made from avocado).

-Christy hasn't decided what she's making yet :)
(So far, everything happens to be dairy-free & gluten-free...and, of course, meat free!)
