Good for you for taking the additive-free plunge, Michelle!!! I know a lot of folks do lose weight from ditching the additives!!!! Will be right here rooting for you!!!! :)  I hope you find relief from your ailments very soon! :) Please do keep us posted...

Hi all! My name is Michelle I am 39 live in CT and have been additive free 1 week tomorrow. I suffer from ALOT of allergies, fibromyalgia and a chronic pain condition controlled with an occipital stimulator implant. I am active, in warm weather I walk 2-3 miles 4-5 days a week, in winter I use an elliptical, I do Kettleworx workouts and yoga. I need to lose 30-40 pounds desperately and nothing I have tried lately works. I am hoping the additive free lifestyle will help some.

Pam, when you cut out gluten, did you eat other forms of grains or flours?

I have noticed this week when I ate some popcorn, and also bread, I get all gassy and bloated. The last couple of days I have not eaten them and actually feel better. So I'm trying not to eat gluten and watching my grain intake. I thought about experimenting with different types of flours, has anyone done much cooking or baking with other kinds of flours? Thanks!

Hello Krisha : )  I have to agree with reducing carbs and dairy. I'm a carboholic myself and lately I've been eating more greens. I believe everything in moderation so don't stop eating them, just eat less of them.

Hello ~ Hoping some folks here have some advice as I think I gained almost 5 pounds this Thanksgiving weekend! Okay, so, I've been eating healthy, whole foods for a while now with occaisonal slip ups now and then, i.e. potato chips! - and have just started reading more and more about eating less and less carbs.

Has anyone had success with this? I used to be a big white bread eater, Rotella's Steakhouse Twist anyone? Then switched to whole grains and now sprouted or soaked grains. However, I'm thinking of trying to give it up completely.

Does anyone have any tips on how to eat less carbs? I simply love my raw milk and winter squash, sweet potatoes. Maybe that's my problem?

I have been trying to up my fat and protein intake - but finding that the milk and veggies would be hard to go without. Any one out there been here before??

I've been practicing better health habits since the beginning of 2010 with some good results (after many years of bad habits & the associated weight gain). I am glad to know others who are on the same journey. You can contact me if you'd like to walk together sometime...

Hello,
My name is Noreen and I have Adrenal exhaustion. Since my slow recovery, I have put on a few extra pounds that have not really bothered my much, but has been a struggle to take off. I would love to meet up with like minded people who are interested in wanting to encourage each other and meet for exercise or walking. I am currently a member to 24hr. Fitness although I have been speeding more time not going but I do love sitting in the steam baths for hours. Yes, hours! I love it.

Is there anyone interested in taking walks, riding the bike trail or taking walks? Diet is very important to me because of my condition. I am trying ever more to eliminate most fats from my diet (by, oh, do they taste so good!!) and find workout buddies.

We can also get together over coffee or tea and discuss ways to incorporate healthier food choices to enhance our fitness program. If this is something that you might be interested in wanting to do, please feel free to contact me and I will get back to you. Thanks, Noreen : )
