The heat and torrential rain has done wonders for our garden the past couple of weeks. Still wishing we had planted earlier? Yes, but we are at least able to eat some of the goodies finally!

Our garden consists of 7 raised beds (each is 4' x 4'). Oh, and we have a couple "deep" boxes for carrots, too :)

Box #1: peas, chard, baby carrots, baby greens, lettuces, radishes, parsley, marigold and a pepper plant

Box #2: pole beans, chard, kale, broccoli, parsley, baby carrots, bell pepper and radishes

Box #3: tomatoes, radishes, baby carrots, marigold, basil, baby greens, hot peppers, sage

Box #4: cherry tomatoes, watermelon, bell peppers, baby greens, lettuces, marigold, oregano, thyme

Box #5: cantaloupe, marigold, nasturtium, cilantro, bell peppers, baby carrots

Box #6: lemon balm, lettuce, peppers, heirloom tomatoes, collard greens, dill, baby carrots, watermelon, basil,

Box #7: cucumbers, watermelon, zucchini, nasturtium, cabbage, jalapeno

The snakes are to deter birds :) As with the owl, it's good to move them around every day or two or the pests will habituate :)

Are the plastic snakes for decoration or to scare off something? We have the very same owl, the grackles and rabbits thought it was scary for a couple of days and then they figured it out. Smart things!

You guys are welcome to come over ANY time and check it out. There are ways to make it look even nicer than this if you'd like, too! (We're in Benson aree and we're around a LOT!) So just let me know :) Tell him we get TONS of compliments and onlookers - - heck, let's just say "fans". LOL

Awesome. I'm gt share this w/Chad. He doesn't want to mess up the landscaping "view" of the house we are planning on moving into. I keep trying to convince him that we can have a nice garden w/o it looking like a mess!

Well, here's an idea of the "close quarters" from last year. This pic was taken at the end of September...

LOVE it! Thanks for sharing! I've been wondering what was planted in each and am very curious to see how they will grow in those close quarters! I am SO jealous! We didn't plant a garden this year because we don't know when we'll be moving.
